1. How can we reach higher shear values?
The shear values are affected by different factors. First the form of the connecting zone (groove) must be correct. During the crimping process the quality of knurling then particularly plays the most important role. This again depends on the quality of the knurling wheels as well as the correct setting of the knurling machine. Other influence has the rolling strength. The ideal average must be found. Sometimes a too small rolling strength is not enough, in order to close the hammer properly. A too large strength can destroy the knurls and thus an increase against the displacement firmness work.
2. Are there profiles, which shape are not to be manufactured?
In principle there is no shape of profiles, which cannot be rolled on our machines. It is to be only noted, that outside of the isolating strips within the range of the hammer sufficient free space is left for the reach of the rolling disks. For very complex profiles, it might be necessary to use additional tools in order to guide the profiles properly through the machines. If need exists a profile to design in such a way that also the entrance to the isolating strips can be used, then one can change on rolling from the inside. Connecting of such profiles is however time-consuming, a machine needed for it we have however likewise in the program.
3. How can we increase the overall output of an existing line?
The capacity of a complete isolating line is in most cases limited by external influences. Time-studies point out that in particular and the removal of the material are often very unfavorably solved. Repeatedly also logistics is not cleanly solved, the service personnel must then wait for material for the next order.
4. How can we control the quality of the knurling?
At present only one possibility of checking the knurling is available. It is optical control with a suitable magnifying glass. When using a magnifying glass the form and the depth of the knurling can be controlled.
5. What is the maximum rolling force?
There is no general limitation of the rolling force; this depends on the profile and wall thickness of the profile. A too large strength can deform the profile irreversibly. Besides it can the points of knurling destroy and thus an increase against the displacement firmness work.
